Reasons for a visit
A visit to the Baroffio Museum and to the Sanctuary is a must.
Reopened at the end of 2001 after intensive works of recovery and enlargement, the Museum and Sanctuary now offer a rich collection of paintings, sculptures, miniature manuscripts, drawings, coins, altar frontals and vestments.
The Museum is significant from both an ancient and modern point of view:  - for the history of Santa Maria del Monte and for the architecture and decoration of the Sanctuary, as well as for the precious works of art donated by important persons to the Madonna del Monte; - for the Museum’s new Section of contemporary sacred art.

The Museum is in Piazzetta Monastero near the Sanctuary of Santa Maria del Monte that is on top of Sacro Monte of Varese.

TICKET
€ 3,00; reduced fares € 1,00 (groups over 10 people, visitors over 65, students)

GUIDED TOURS
Guided tours Euro 95,00 for groups max 25 people
(reduced fares not included)

The Guided tour (about 2 hours) in English covers both the Sanctuary that the Museum.
